About Us

Welcome to 290 Design Company! We are so happy to have you here. 290Design opened in January of 2021 in Bedford, Iowa. We started with graphic t-shirts and quickly grew into so much more. We operated out of a corner room of our basement. We have continued to grow and we are now in the process of building an entire workshop and warehouse. It has been such a journey, but a fun one. If you know me, you would agree that you see me 90% of the time in a graphic t-shirt with leggings or biker shorts. You will notice we offer many designs and styles of shirts. We want everyone to feel comfortable while still looking cute. We believe in good quality items with a low price. We are all just out here trying to make it and look good while doing it. None of my dreams would have been accomplished without my family by myside. The entire reason I opened 290 Design was for our family. Our first son, Braxtyn, was born in December of 2020 with major medical issues. While he is the light of our eye, his condition brought many challenges to our life. At the time, I was working as a full time Registered Nurse and did not have the time to get Braxtyn to all of his appointments and therapy sessions. A small boutique had been talked about several times before between my husband and I.. what better time to jump and chase our dreams while helping our son? So, 290 DesignCo., LLC was born and let me tell you… I couldn’t have made a better choice! In July of 2022 we welcomed our second son, Colsyn. He is the calm in our storm. He grounds us and somehow he seems to always know what we need. He fits in perfectly and his big brother adores him more than words can describe. These two boys are my world. I am a firm believer of being a mom first, wife second, and business owner third. This is why we incorporated “mama owned” into our logo. It is that important to me. My husband, Kalob, has encouraged my dreams this entire time. He is the push  I need when I am on the edge of backing out. He believes in me more than I believe in myself. Without him, none of this would be possible and I cannot thank him enough for this beautiful life he gave us. If you made it this far, thank you for reading.
